2GUIDING OUR WATERSHED WITH KNOWLEDGE AND VISION A message from Leadership2025 was a year in which Quinte Conservation staff demonstrated exceptional resilience in delivering key watershed-based programs and services for residents, municipalities, and partner groups. Through meaningful collaboration with the public and partner organizations, staff advanced the Authority%u2019s mission to safeguard the region%u2019s watersheds through improved operational standards and evidencebased environmental management.In October, the Province announced plans to consolidate Ontario%u2019s 36 Conservation Authorities into seven regional bodies. Our staff played an active role in raising public awareness and encouraging community input on Bill 68, the Plan to Protect Ontario Act, and the related policy changes that may follow if this plan proceeds. While uncertainty remains about the Province%u2019s direction, we are deeply appreciative of the residents and municipal councils who voiced strong opposition to the proposed consolidation. Despite ongoing regulatory changes, Quinte Conservation remains committed to developing strategies that strengthen operations and program delivery, support informed decision making, and maintain community focused services. As we move into 2026, we will continue to advocate for protecting Quinte Conservation%u2019s identity and ensuring that local representation and services remain available to our municipalities and residents.I am pleased to share the accomplishments of 2025, which highlight the dedication, expertise, and adaptability of Quinte Conservation%u2019s staff, Board of Directors, volunteers, municipal partners, and community members. As we look ahead, the organization remains committed to protecting the natural systems that support community wellbeing, economic stability, and ecological resilience across the watershed.
